CPHA Statement on COVID-19 and Coronavirus regarding Culture of Data and

Public Health in the Rockies

Following careful consideration and close examination of recent developments regarding the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic, including a declared state of emergency in Colorado, the CPHA Board of Directors and Culture of Data Planning Committee has decided that the Culture of Date conference in Denver, CO, on April 10, 2020, will no longer take place. Many of our audience members, speakers, and exhibitors are deeply involved with COVID-19 responses and thus the timing of this event is simply not conducive to our primary role of supporting and advocating for Colorado’s public health workforce. In addition, the health and safety of our attendees, exhibitors, presenters, volunteers, and staff remain our top priority.

We know many of our CPHA members are front line responders, researchers, and public health leaders.  We stand with you in this crisis and thank you for your expertise and dedication. We would also like to express our sincerest gratitude to the Culture of Data Planning Committee for their dedication on developing what promised to be a wonderful program.  With a focus on health equity, the Culture of Data conference will certainly be a well-aligned forum to convene next year and share data on COVID-19 equity considerations.

While we will continue to monitor closely in the coming months, CPHA still intends to host Public Health in the Rockies in Keystone in August 26-28, 2020, so please plan to join us there!

What you will next see:

  1. For individuals registered for Culture of Data, CPHA will refund registration fees in the coming week in the same manner you originally paid.  If you have any questions about your refund, please reach out to Dana Eckoff at [email protected].
  2. For session presenters, you will be contacted by CPHA’s Dana Eckoff ([email protected]) inviting you to present at Public Health in the Rockies.
  3. For sponsors and exhibitors, you will be contacted by a CPHA representative for options on next steps.

You can find CPHA’s COVID-19 statement dated March 9, 2020, on CPHA’s website.
